The web is full of resources of what to do, what to see, who to talk to, and where to find the mysterious floating light that you can only see between the hours of 2:02AM and 2:06 AM along your Route 66 trip.

But the one thing I couldn't find when I was planning my first Route 66 trip back in 2008 was how long it took to do all these things. How long should I expect to spend looking at the World's Largest Totem Pole? How long will my 3 year old son want to play inside a giant blue whale? How much time I will waste taking wrong turns (and arguing with my wife over the directions) trying to find the single lane road in Oklahoma?

So, I started 66in2weeks.com!

66in2weeks.com is dedicated to providing you with an interactive way to plan your Route 66 trip, and get a good feel for how long the trip should take. And if you are like me, you might only have 2 weeks to take the trip, so time is important!

So pick a direction, East or West. Pick a starting point. Pick and ending point. And your on your way to planning your Route 66 Adventure! You can select the destinations you want to visit. You can use our estimates of how much time you need at each stop, or create your own estimates. You can decide if you want to save some time and take the interstate for a period.

When you are done planning your route, you can then create your itinerary where you can break your trips into days, determining what destinations or distance you want to cover on a day-by-day basis, and either print it out, or save it for later.

You can also plan your trip and retrieve it while you are on your trip on your wireless internet computer or phone, using it to keep you on schedule with the day's events, or make on-the-fly changes should you spend more time at the Blue Swallow Motel in Tucumcari, NM than you originally expected.

Through our own research, and tips from businesses and other travelers, we are constantly updating the quantity and quality of our content. So be sure to check back often to update your trip.

And most importantly, have fun planning what is sure to be an adventure of a lifetime!
